Travel mat and on ya bike

Now that baby G is batting at toys and really starting to play with them, I've discovered a dilemma! How do I keep baby entertained when we go away on holidays or even down to the park. For the last holiday I bought a bouncer that can be easily assembled and disassembled, and a family member borrowed us an activity mat. For another upcoming holiday i went on the look out for a portable activity mat. It was a simple to find as I hoped, while a lot of the activity centres are fold up and portable they are still pretty big to try and fit into luggage. I ended up finding a fold up activity may at Babies r Us:http://www.infantino.com/product.cfm?product_id=1411. It was quite expensive $69.95, but I think the use we will get out of it will be worth it, including at home use. Though I only just watched the video of how to use it when I was grabbing the link for this post and have realized I wasn't putting it up properly whoops!

I'm trying to limit our big ticket purchases, for example we haven't got a jumparoo yet, but I am tempted to get this trike:http://www.toysrus.com.au/smart-trike-recliner-blue-grey/w1/i1197577_1716891/. I figure it's actually really good value as it lasts for years, I have always thought these push trikes were a good idea as babies get frustrated in the pram the older they get and this way they feel like they are in control a bit more.

Manbag

My Hubby is yet to take little G on an outing by himself, this is because we do most stuff together and he likes to stay at home and let me go out by myself :-). But one day he will be taking little G out and we don't have a neutral nappy bag for him to take. I was looking at really expensive man bags that celebrity's like Brad Pitt used, but my hubby isn't that kinda guy and they were really expensive (okay, no more expensive then the average nappy bag, but I didn't buy an expensive one for myself!). I found this awesome website where I could personalize a messenger bag - checked with hubby that he was happy with it and ordered this one with little G's name on it. It took 6 working days for delivery, I thought that was quite reasonable considering it was custom made. While looking up the website address to post on this blog, I ended up buying a custom made tshirt with bubba g's name on it. I also put some wall decals in my shopping cart, a little to exxy for me to buy now, but maybe if a good discount comes along... http://www.mooo.com.au/personalised-messenger-bags-red.

Night light and update on the pram pain

I am obsessed with staring at my little G! Especially when she is sleeping at night, she is still in the room for us and I imagine she will remain there for at least another month. Sidsandkids recommend at least 6 months a baby should stay in the parents room.http://www.sidsandkids.org/safe-sleepingclass. There is no plugs near her crib so I really needed a night light with batteries, the last month we have been sleeping with the side lamp on which my Hubby hasn't been to keen on. I've been searching with no luck, and while in Babies r us the other day I asked about night lights, the girl led me to the usual plug in lights and I said oh no I need a battery one. Luckily a guy working there was walking past and she asked him - he came back with a whole stack! As pictured I got the princess light (for my princess ;-)), its the perfect light and its battery operated AND its also a torch - how aweseome is that!  It was $29.95.  I had a good run that day as I also picked up a vibrating bouncer on sale for $29.95 which was perfect for travelling and using on our recent holiday.

As previously blogged about when G was still in my tummy, I searched for AGES before finally buying the baby jogger city mini pram - which was the first pram we ever actually looked at and liked anyway.  Its been fantastic, as practical as I thought it was going to be - we have a ute with a hard top, and the pram is so light I literally pop the hard top and throw the pram in -easy peasy.  The only cons I ever read about it was that the storage under the pram was to small, and this I agree with it.  It would be lovely to have more room, but its certainly not a deal breaker for me.  My only dilemma at the moment is how to put toys on the pram to stimulate little G now she is getting to the age of wanting to start grabbing at things.  The hood goes down so low, that when its sunny there is no point hanging anything as it she cant reach it. I was also thinking of putting some stickers on the inside of the hood (patterns and high contrast for her little eyes), as when the hood is down she is often just gazing up at the inside of the hood watching nothing! I will purchase the belly bar soon so I can put some toys on that as well.Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller Belly Bar

Janie & jack and winter target

I love all the little girl clothes on the Janie and Jack website:http://www.janieandjack.com/index.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302774797&bmUID=1331199221806. They are so elegant, but a little out of my price range. Maybe when little G is a bit older I might get a few pieces from Janie and Jack but now not only does she have way to many clothes for a 9 week old, but they are a little $$ for such short term wear.

I did buy little g some bonds leggings and singlet onsies and bibs from Big W - I am loving Bonds for babies at the moment. I also snuck into Target who were having 20% off babies clothes and picked up this dress and tights and long sleeve heart short. I actually picked up a cardigan and another dress with tights as well. Even with the 20% off they were quite $$, but I adore the smocks with tights looks (and they were ballerina slippers tights as well how cute!) and I needed some Warner clothes for her as we are visiting friends in the south. I was a little bit frugal and got them in 00, even though she is still 000 - that way she can wear them when we have our tropical winter on a few months.

Look of the day for me is Sass and Bide denim skirt - I bought this so long ago I have no idea how much it cost! One teaspoon short - I have this on grey and black the are my HG shirts and I heart them to death! Look of the day for G is a tutu dress and headband - I think I paid about $10 for it from:http://www.kidzwearonline.com.au/Default.aspx?skinid=7. G is looking very awkward in this photo, she was super tired and I couldn't get her to sleep so I decided to play dress ups, as soon as I took this photo I changed her back into her nap clothes and age fell asleep - lol!

Baby G style

Baby G and I have started baby classes, where we sing and play and sometimes she gets a massage! Being only 8 weeks old she only lasts about twenty minutes to half and hour of the hour class before falling asleep lol. It's nice to meet other mummies and see what other babies are up to in their development. Look of the day for me is Sass and Bide tunic top with leggings and glitter Novo shoes. I am wearing a Bonds bf singlet underneath. It wasn't the most bf friendly outfit, but luckily bub didn't need a feed while we were out. Baby g outfit is a Best and Less dress and matching nappy cover.

I bought G some rattle shoes as the Wonder Weeks book says that she is in the development phase of discovering her hands and feet, plus they look cute ;-).
